Snapdragon Stadium (1600 Sports Arena Blvd, San Diego, CA 92110) opened in 2022 as the home of SDSU Aztecs football, FC San Diego (USL Championship), and one of San Diego County's highest-capacity concert venues — a 35,000-seat open-air facility off Sports Arena Boulevard in the Linda Vista corridor. From El Cajon, the stadium is approximately 18 miles west via I-8 to I-5 North. The Sports Arena Boulevard approach narrows into a single commercial corridor between the stadium and the Midway shopping area, and post-event traffic heading back toward I-8 and I-5 clears slowly — stadium exit control regularly delays departure by 30–45 minutes on sold-out concert nights.
